Caelum Observatory now stands for the name of Adam Block's business and includes activities that are separate from his current (new)
job at the
Mount Lemmon Sky Center
(near Tucson, Arizona). His overall mission in all his endeavors is to promote public outreach in astronomy and
offer premier access to the universe. With the ever increasing ubiquity of light polluted skies,
offering passionate perspectives on the universe will cause the public to pause and consider the dwindling windows of dark night skies. Inspiration and
appreciation of this endangered natural resource will be achieved through unique stargazing programs,
advanced observing opportunities, and special events or workshops.
"Caelum", pronounced Kye'lum, is the Latin word for "sky."
Caelum videre iussit, et erectos ad sidera tollere vultus.
He bid them look at the sky and lift their faces to the stars.
--Ovid, Metamorphoses 1. 85-86
