The Pleiades

Seemingly swaddled in their natal gas and dust, stars of the Pleiades are actually already making a life for themselves as they travel in the spiral arm of the Milky Way. We happen to look upon them through dust which scatters bluish light. However, the region of our galaxy in this direction also has the typical low level (red) emission from clouds of latent hydrogen gas. This image attempts to reveal this story as a connected whole.
